Violet A. Ipock Brooks 82, of Providence, KY passed away at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY on Monday March 23, 2020. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Providence, KY. Violet loved working outdoors, mowing her husband Howard’s grave, collecting dolls, visiting the Smoky Mountains and going to her friends condo in Florida. She also loved the Jingle Jog 5K Race/Walk held each year in Providence, KY that was dedicated to her late grandson Jeremy Elder this past year. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Ipock and second husband Howard Brooks, and one grandson Jeremy Elder. Survivors include her 3 daughters Loretta Elder(Terry) of Providence, KY; Ann Quinn(Robert) and Debbie McIntyre(Glenn) both of Jasper Alabama; 2 sons John Thomas Ipock(Dora) of Providence, KY and Barry Ipock of Clay, KY; 2 sisters Ruth Baty of Dixon, KY and Hertra Williams of Providence, KY; 1 brother James Poe of Providence, KY; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held later this week at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Slaughters, KY. Rev. Jimmy Sigler and Rev. Robert Allen will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Jingle Jog 5K Race/Walk c/o Loretta Elder 1150 Baptist Hill Road Providence, KY 42450.
