Pamela Jean Hancock 62, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2021. She was a soldier of 45 years at The Salvation Army in Henderson where she attended church. She earned a Bachelors and Masters Degrees at the University of Kentucky, where she made the Dean’s list all four years while carrying a 4.0 GPA. She was presented the Carrol S Adelstin Award at UK, served on the Governors Counsil for American Disability Act and was a chairperson for Vocational Rehability and served on the Sit Based Decision Making Counsil for Henderson County School system. She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Azalia Viars. Survivors include 1 daughter Marla Sizemore(Keith) of Henderson, KY; 2 brothers Kenny Viars and Paul Viars(Jill) both of Henderson, KY; 1 sister Cheryl Phelps(Darrell) of Henderson, KY; 2 grandchildren Elijah and Zaleigh Rae Sizemore both of Henderson, KY and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at The Salvation Army, 1213 Washington St. in Henderson, KY on Monday April 12, 2021 at 2pm. Captain Benny Carringer will officiate. Burial will be at Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden, KY. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the church on Monday. Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY is handling the arrangements.
