George Brown

George Lee Brown 83, of Providence, KY formerly of Rabbit Ridge passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2019 at Princeton Nursing and Rehab in Princeton, KY. He was the janitor at West Hopkins High School for 35 years and was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ in Dixon, KY. He loved to fish, and play his guitar. He also loved his church and Jesus. He was preceded in death by wife Patsy Brown, 1 son Martin Lee Reed, 1 brother Louis Ray Brown and a grandson Brandon Keith Brown. He was the son of the late Raymond and Ella Brown. Survivors include his 3 daughters Kathy Pendergraff (Jamie) of Manitou, KY; Donna Utley (Scott) of Beulah, KY and Nancy Menser (Ronnie) of Dalton, KY; 4 sons Keith Brown of Benton, KY; Gary Brown and Randy Brown both of Dalton, KY; and Johnny Brown of Richland, KY; 2 sisters Virginia Gibson of Dixon, KY and Louise Smith of Madisonville, KY; 1 brother Earl Brown of Lisman, KY; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday February 14th at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Minister Bill Williams and Bro. Alan Menser will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dixon, KY Military honors will be performed graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday and from 8am until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.townsendfuneralhomeinc.com
