Edwin Jones

Edwin B. Jones 99, of Slaughters, KY passed away at home with his loving wife, daughter and Mary Sue Winstead by his side. He was a lifetime farmer, a Army Veteran and a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters, KY. He served as a Deacon and taught Sunday school for 38 years. He loved gardening and was a KY Colonel. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Iola Jane Brown and Henrietta Carver, 1 brother Henry Jones Jr., 1 son-in-law Robert H. Whitson and 1 step granddaughter Brenda Coomer. Survivors include his wife of 74 years Mildred Townsend Jones of Slaughters, KY; 1 daughter Jo Ann Whitson of Bowling Green, KY;  special family friends Robert and Mary Sue Winstead of Slaughters, KY; 2 step grandchildren Bobby Whitson and Debra Inman; 8 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday March 2, 2019 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Harry Baldwin and Rev. Steve Dame will officiate. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery.
