Thomas "Tom" Franklin Thurby

Thomas “Tom” Franklin Thurby 90, of Dixon, KY passed away Saturday December 20, 2025 at his home. He was a Mason in the state of Mississippi, was a wood finish technician that traveled worldwide for multiple industries teaching others his self-taught craft in wood working. He loved raising a garden and giving away his bounty to those in need. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters Sue Carol Cooper, Nellie Duncan, Doris Jean Eblen and Virginia Gibson; 2 brothers David Garland and Charles “Bud” Thurby. Survived by his wife of 69 years Shirley Thurby of Dixon, KY; 3 daughters Sheila Renea Kowalski of Chicago, Il. Lesa (Doug) Wilson of Dixon, KY. and Kimberly Jean (Randy) Wiles of Nebo, KY; 1 son Thomas Gregory (Sheela) Thurby of Arkansas; 5 sisters Mary Ina Jenkins of Robards, KY. Corrine Johnson and Pam Lawless both of Henderson, KY. Judy Cates of Sebree, KY. and Sharon Cates of Onton, KY.; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; with several nieces and nephews.
