Thomas D "Tommy" Liggett

Thomas D “Tommy” Liggett 74 of Dixon, KY passed away at his home on Saturday June 7th, 2025. Tommy was a member of the Little Zion General Baptist Church in Dixon, KY. He was a lifelong farmer with Liggett Family Farms, after his retirement from Riverview Coal he went back to farming alongside his nephew Danny Ray Liggett, Tommy loved being on the farm driving a tractor or combine. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Thomas D “Buck” and Ruby Christine Dossett Liggett. He was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Sue Duncan, Ann Braden, Faye Rakestraw, Dorris, David and Jimmy Liggett. Survivors include his wife Naomi Liggett of Dixon, KY; his daughter Shannon(John) Sheridan of Dixon, KY; a sister Shirley(George) Tapp of Tilden, KY; 8 grandchildren Micah, J.J., Miley, Matias, Evelyn, Sabastian, Haylee Foster and Harlee Foster and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 11th, 2025 at 11am at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Justin Cardwell will officiate. Burial will be in Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday and from 8am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
