Shirley Anne Coleman McGill

Shirley Anne McGill, 90 of Dixon, KY passed away on Saturday September 26th, 2026 at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY. Shirley worked for South Central Bell as a phone operator for several years and then started with Dixon Bank as a Bank Teller and worked there for over 25 years until her retirement. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for them. Her favorite hobby was collecting and building miniatures and doll houses. Shirley was the daughter of the late Edgar Hinton and Grace Williamson Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Gaylon McGill in 2007, a son David McGill in 2024 and a daughter in-law Cheryl McGill in 2020. Survivors include her daughters Kathy Bennett of Dixon, KY and Peggy(Barry) Browning of Madisonville, KY; her sons Terry McGill of Beckley, WV and Mike McGill of Dixon, KY; 5 grandchildren Brandon Springer, Steve Duncan, Leah Richardson, Josh Bennett and Nathan McGill; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday October 1st, 2026 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Earl Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday and from 8am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S.
