Pheobe Alice Pruitt

Pheobe Alice Pruitt 91, of Poole, KY left this world to receive her heavenly reward by spending eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 10th, 2026 at Homeplace of Henderson in Henderson, KY. She was a lifelong member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church in Poole, KY and loved her church and her church family, which she has missed dearly for the past two years of not being able to attend due to her declining health. She served the church and the Lord in many ways over the years as a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Society member, Crusader Leader and by singing specials for the congregation with her beautiful voice. She served the Lord in all that she did and raised her children alongside our Dad in a Christian home. Her working years were spent in the educational system with the Audubon Area Head Start program, helping many families by helping their children get an early start on their education. Following that she served as a substitute teacher and finally fully retired at age 79. Although we are heartbroken, Mom leaves behind many memories for us to cherish and we take comfort in knowing that we shall all be together again one day. She was the daughter of the late Thurman Franklin Winstead and Alice Faye Johnston Winstead. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilsie, 2 sisters Amigene Mitchell and Frances Collins, a brother Paul Winstead, and a great-grandchild Franklin Finn Oliver. Survivors include her daughter Karen(Jim) Embry of Henderson, KY; 2 sons Glenn(Shirley) Pruitt of Robards, KY and Frank(Diane) Pruitt of Sebree, KY; a sister Anna Catherine Parrish of Henderson, KY; 5 grandchildren Nathan(Katrina) Pruitt, Ben(Torrey) Embry, Matt(Ashton) Embry, Meredith(Lucas) Oliver and Alison Pruitt; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Tuesday January 13th, 2025 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Logan Hensley and Rev. Dean Esarey will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral Home. The family would like to thank all the staff at Homeplace of Henderson and St. Anthony’s Hospice for all the love and care that was given to their mother.
