Perry Ray Oakley,76, of Dixon, KY passed away on Saturday May 3rd, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Nashville, TN. He was a graduate of Providence High School, class of 1967. Perry had worked for 35 years in Coal Mines including Island Creek and Green River Coal, and was a proud member of UMWA, after retiring from mining he worked on the FLW fishing tournament circuit. He loved fishing and was a member of the Webster County Bass Club, where he won Angler of the year in 2023. Perry was of the Baptist faith and had served in the National Guard. He was the son of the late Alva Ray and Maudell Green Oakley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Jojo Oakley. Survivors include his daughter Dusty(Chuck) Lynn of Nashville, TN; a son Perry Ray(Amy) Oakley II of Dixon, KY; a brother Kerry(Bonnie) Oakley of Providence, KY; 2 grandchildren Gabriel Ryan Oakley and Ella Rae Oakley and nieces Candy Skinner, Keely Oakley and Kam Davis. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 9th, 2025 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. John Brumfiel will officiate. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
