Mayer Wabner

Mayer “Moose” Wabner 92, of Poole, KY passed away on Dec. 25, 2016 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY. He was a University of Louisville Alumni, having played football during his college days. He was a WWII Army Veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Temple Adath B` Nai Israel in Evansville, IN. He was a member of the Poole Masonic Lodge #604, and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a Kosair’s Shriner and a member of the B` Nai Brith. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Nancy of Poole, KY; 2 daughters Dr. Cindy Wabner of Poole, KY and Becky Davis (Brent) of Ft. Worth, TX; 1 son Eric Wabner of Louisville, KY; 1 grandson Charles Davis (Sarah) and 1 great granddaughter Charlotte Davis. Graveside services were held on Monday December 26, 2016 at 2pm at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Rabbi Mazo officiated the service. Hopkins County Honor Guard performed Military rites at the graveside. Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY handled the arrangements.
