Sherry Atherton

Sherry Atherton 79, of Tilden, KY passed away at her home on Tuesday November 28^th, 2023. She was a member of the Tilden General Baptist Church in Tilden, KY., where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent, she was also very active in the Choir and with the Vacation Bible School. Sherry loved crafting and her flowers. She was a champion Archer in KY, TN and Indiana archery competitions. She was the daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Eva Mae Wheeler. Survivors include her husband of 62 years Gary Atherton of Tilden, KY; 2 daughters Jacki( Joe Kerr) Wilhelm of Henderson, KY; Kelly(Carlos Rogers) Sutton of Tilden, KY; 1 son Clint(Tonya) Atherton of Tilden, KY; 1 sister Gayle McDowell of Owensboro, KY; 4 grandchildren Chris Wilhelm, Jessica Wilhelm, Josh Atherton and Cody Sutton; 3 great grandchildren Alyssa Wilhelm, Cayden Holmes and Gracie Atherton and 2 nieces. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 5^th, 2023 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Glenn Jenkins and Bro. Mike Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on Monday December 4^th, 2023 and from 8am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
