Leslie Johnson

Leslie B. Johnson 76, of Slaughters, KY passed away at home on Monday February 13th, 2023. He attended Onton United Methodist Church in Onton, KY. He was a US Marine Veteran, he served in the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Division 3rd Marines. He was a decorated Marine Corporal Rifleman, having been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal and Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal. He loved fishing, watching football and also loved the Wildcats. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Johnson Jr. and Annis Johnson Walker. He was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Leggitt, 3 brothers Jimmie, Charles “Buddy” and Jack Johnson III. Survivors include his wife Saundra Johnson of Louisville, KY; 3 daughters Michele(David) Madden of Lawrenceburg, KY; Sandy(Shane) Nance of Slaughters, KY and Kim(George) Turner of Elizabethtown, KY; 1 son Bo(Sandy) Johnson of Louisville, KY; 3 sisters Faye Williams of Clay, KY; Tommie Jean Warren of Princeton, KY and Sandy McLemore of Prattville, Al; 2 brothers Lynn Walker of Madisonville, KY and Bennie Johnson of Marion, KY; 7 grandchildren Alexandra Hall, Cody Johnson, Katilyn Garrett, Elizabeth Madden, Ryan Madden, Nathan Johnson and Jacob Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday February 18th, 2023 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Ronnie Highland will officiate. Burial and graveside services will be held on Saturday February 25th, 2023 at 1pm at Onton Cemetery in Onton, KY. Visitation will be Friday February 17th from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home and from 8am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
