Lawrence Edward Taylor 88, of Providence, KY passed away at 10:25am on Saturday October 3, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. He was a farmer and retired from York Manufacturing in Madisonville, KY. He was a US Army PFC & Military Police Veteran. He was an honorable member of Star Hope General Baptist Church in Providence, KY. He is the son of the late Vessia Lawrence and Beulah Elizabeth Veazy Taylor. He was preceded by a brother William Taylor, two sisters Helen Williams and Dorothy Duncan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Virginia Anne Springfield Taylor of Providence, KY; two daughters Phyllis Puckett(Virgil) of Nebo, KY and Gina Moser(David) of Hickory, NC; two sons Ron Taylor(Kathy) of Hanson, KY and Bill Taylor(Sheryl) of Providence, KY; 6 grandchildren Steven Puckett(Amy), Stacey Boles(Bo), Bryan Taylor, Niki Massey(Cleveland), Kristen Holmes(Eddie) and Jacob Moser; 8 great grandchildren Taylor Puckett, Avyn Puckett, Tripp Boles, Enola Massey, Waylon Massey, Layla Holmes, Lance Holmes and Landon Holmes; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Danny Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Star Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday and from 8am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons Steven Puckett, Bo Boles, Bryan Taylor, Eddie Holmes, Cleveland Massey and Jacob Moser.
