Lawrence Grayson

Lawrence E. Grayson 93, of Dixon, KY passed away on Saturday April 23, 2022 at Shemwell Healthcare in Providence, KY. He was of the Presbyterian Faith, and retired from CSX Railroad in 1992 after 22 years of service. He had also worked 6 years as a KY State Trooper and was Assistant Police Chief for the Henderson Police Department between 1964-65. After retirement from the Railroad, Lawrence enjoyed working at Ellis Park in Henderson, KY, working for Trainer Larry Jones hot walking the race horses. He was a US Navy Veteran. As a young man right after graduating from high school Lawrence raced motorcycles in Daytona several times, he was sponsored by Bud Bay’s Harley Davidson in Evansville, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Mae Harmes Grayson and a son Randy Myrick. Survivors include his 2 daughters Cindy Dippel(Jim) of Evansville, IN; Connie Kamuf(Todd) of Poole, KY; 2 sons Gary Myrick(Jane) of Evansville, IN and Larry Grayson of Dixon, KY; 11 grandchildren Jarrod Myrick, Lindsay Henderson(Michael), Michael Myrick(Lauren), Amy Myrick, Robert Myrick, Rebecca Myrick, Ryan Myrick, Tammy Major(Tracy), Kandace Kolley(Larry Cardwell), Corbett Kamuf(Michaela) and Keegan Kamuf(Gentry Miley); 9 great grandchildren;  his daughter in law Christy Myrick of Henderson, KY; his caregiver Linda Vaughn of Clay, KY and his close friends Durel and Carolyn Carneal of Evansville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday April 28th, 2022 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev John Brumfiel will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday and from 8am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S.
