Kenneth Berry

Kenneth Berry, 88, of the Western Kentucky Veterans Center passed away peacefully Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Baptist Health Madisonville following a brief hospitalization.

Clarence Kenneth Berry was born December 24, 1932, to Jennie (Lockridge) and Clarence Berry on the family farm near Sebree, Kentucky.  Kenneth was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church.  He worked on the farm and retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department.  Kenneth married Roberta Clark on April 3, 1953.  He loved gardening and sharing his abundance of vegetables with his neighbors and friends.  He also loved Webster County “Trojan” basketball games which he attended regularly before his health declined.  Kenneth loved the many dogs he had as pets over the years and making homemade ice cream.  He was preceded in death by his parents Jennie and Clarence Berry.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Roberta of Providence; three sons, Garl of Sebree, Keith (Sue) of Henderson, and Tom (Darlene) of Sebree; three grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Ginger of Arnold, Missouri, Brennan Berry of Sebree, and Taylor Berry of Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Conor and Leahana Ginger of Arnold, Missouri.

Family members of Kenneth would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Western Kentucky Veterans Center who took outstanding care of Kenneth for over twelve years following his debilitating stroke.  Their care and compassion will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at the Townsend Funeral Home, Dixon, Kentucky, beginning at 10:00 am Wednesday until the service at noon, Rev. Calvin Taylor officiating.  Military rites will be performed graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.  Burial will take place in the Petersburg Cemetery near Sebree, Kentucky.
