Judith Ann Nelson

Judith Ann Nelson 70, of Henderson, KY passed away on Thursday May 9th, 2024 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was of the Baptist faith, she had a passion for home cooking and being a caregiver. Judy was an avid UK fan, she loved gardening, the outdoors, fishing, family time, going to the horse races and enjoyed visiting the casino. She also loved her fur babies Heidi and Buster very much. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lida Sutton Rigdon. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters Jeannette Brunson, Margie Garten, Wanda Hicks and Ida McClain; 4 brothers Harm, James, Arlen and Ernest Rigdon. Survivors include her husband of 25 years Cary Robert Nelson of Henderson, KY; 2 daughters Melissa(Darwin) Todd of Uniontown, KY and Stephanie(Kevin) Johnson of Owensboro, KY; 2 sons Steve(Fay) Turner of Henderson, KY and Michael Rittenberry of Henderson, KY; 3 sisters Betty Shawver and Lila Hinkle both of West Virginia, and Paula Schafer of Dixon, KY; 12 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Friday May 17th, 2024 at 5pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 2pm until 5pm service time at the funeral home. Bro.
