Jeffrey “Jeff” Ken Daniel, 65, of Poole, Kentucky, passed away at his home on Wednesday,
December 31, 2025. A farmer his entire life, Jeff was known for growing “the best peaches” around, though anyone who knew him understood that his real pride and joy was his family—especially his grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished above all else. Aside from Jesus Christ in human flesh, Jeff Daniel was, in the eyes of those who loved him, the greatest man who ever lived. Jeff built his life the hard way: with his hands, his back and an unwavering work ethic. Starting with nothing alongside the love of his life, Marlene, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage, he worked longer and harder than anyone who knew him, often putting his own comfort aside to build the home, the farm, and the life he envisioned. He could fix anything, build anything, and somehow make it all work. If someone needed help—friend, neighbor, or stranger—Jeff was there, no questions asked. He loved to travel, particularly trips that allowed him to visit every fort and historical marker between here and Smokestack. He passed along his love of classic Westerns to the grand kids, introducing them to John Wayne and Matt Dillon, and could often be found “resting his eyes” during Gunsmoke—which he insisted was always a rerun. Classic country music was his soundtrack, and he delighted in pointing out historical inaccuracies, especially in “Sink the Bismarck.” Even in difficult moments, Jeff’s humor never failed him; when asked about a serious leg wound earlier this year, he told an MRI technician he’d been bitten by a shark, and they were checking for teeth.Jeff was preceded in death by his infant sons Deacon, Jeremiah, and Joshua; parents, Buddy and Mary Daniel of Poole; brothers Billy, Johnny Mack, and Robert Daniel; and sister Virginia Mortis. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marlene (Clark) Daniel; his daughter Jasmine; his sons Joseph and wife Katie; Jacob and wife Haley “Comet”; BJ Jones; and his beloved grandchildren Bailey Jones, Hallie, Anna, Deacon, Adalyn, Lucie, Audrey, Mollie, Josie, and Elsie Daniel. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Zieman of Henderson; and his brothers Tom Daniel of Dixon, and Chris Daniel and Richard Daniel, both of Robards; Uncle John Daniel of Sebree; Aunt Ann Kirby of California; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2026, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon,Kentucky, with longtime family friend Bro. Gary Ashby officiating. Burial will follow at the Daniel Family Cemetery in Poole, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breaking Bread, P.O. Box 1821, Madisonville, KY 42431. Pnline condolences can be made at www.townsendfuneralhomeinc.com
