James “Jimmie” George Sr. 84, of Dixon Ky. passed away Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Hillside Center in Madisonville, Ky. He was a member of New Cedar Grove General Baptist Church in Tilden, Ky. and a retired Peabody coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma George and son James “Porky” George Jr. Survivors include 5 daughters; Deborah Townsell of Providence, Ky., Sandra Courtney and Nancy Bumpus both of Dixon, Ky., Trish Atherton of Utica, Ky., and Kristie Stills of Slaughters, Ky., 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday January 5, 2018 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, Ky. Bro. Dwayne Wilson will officiate with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixon, Ky. Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday and from 8am-til service time Friday at the funeral home.
