James Thomas " Jimmy" Dorris

James Thomas “Jimmy” Dorris 78, of Dixon, KY passed away at home on Sunday October 5th, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was a member of the former Dixon United Methodist Church in Dixon, KY. Jimmy retired in 2001 from Dotiki Mines after more than 30 years of coal mining and after retirement he worked for the Webster County Sheriff’s office as a Bailiff at the courthouse for several years. He loved bowling, playing golf, playing cards and the outdoors. Jimmy was the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Jean Dorris. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Clara Dorris of Dixon, KY; 2 daughters Tammy(Jim) Williams of Madisonville, KY; Alicia Marquess of Chino, CA; a sister Linda Dorris of Providence, KY; 4 grandchildren Ashley Poe, Victoria Marquess, Kreg Williams and Ray Williams; 1 great grandson Cooper Cates and 2 nieces. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 8th, 2025 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Father Cole McDowell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Providence, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
