Hershel Lee Stone

Hershel Lee Stone, 90, of Dixon, KY passed away on Tuesday September 29th, 2026 in Madisonville, KY. He retired after working over 35 years at Gibbs Diecasting in Henderson, KY. Hershel loved running his dogs and rabbit hunting. He also loved walking everyday and enjoyed gardening. Hershel was the son of the late Finis and Deovdie Wilson Stone. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Stone, a sister and two brothers. Survivors include his 2 sons Danny(Jennifer) Stone of Madisonville, KY and Glenn(Amanda) Stone of Dixon, KY; a sister JoAnn Wilson of Dixon, KY; a brother Doris Stone of Dixon, KY; 2 grandchildren Amanda(Adam) O’Rear and Holly(Brian) Greer both of Madisonville, KY; 3 great-grandchildren Lyric O’Rear, Finley Greer and Jaxon Greer and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 2nd, 2026 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Chaplain Lee Hicks with Hosparus Health will officiate.
