Gladys Turner Burklow

Gladys Turner Burklow 102, of Providence, KY passed away on Thursday October 9th, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Dixon, KY on September 5th, 1923 to the late Thomas and Belle Stone Turner. Gladys moved to Chicago after marriage, where she worked, was a member of the Hometown Church, and raised their daughter Vickie. After retirement in 1984, her and James moved to Mount Vernon, IN where she enjoyed traveling to multiple locations with cousins. She was an active member of Silver Striders, of the community and was an active member of Harvest Time Church. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband James Burklow, her daughter Vickie Burklow, her brothers Herschel Turner, George Turner and T.J. Turner, and 1 nephew Larry Turner. Survivors include her 2 grandchildren Teresa Fuentes and Steven Carline both of Illinois; 5 great grandchildren Logan Carline, MaKayla Carline, Sophie Carline, Gabriella Fuentes and Geselle Fuentes; her nieces and nephews, Terry(Carol) Turner of Dixon, KY; Angie(Kenn) Boram of Eddyville, KY; Teresa(Willie) Thompson of Madisonville, KY and Mary Beth Turner of Dixon, KY and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 12th, 2025 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev John Brumfiel will officiate. Burial will be in Little Zion Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S. Green St Henderson, KY 42420.
