Emma Hill Brown

Emma Hill Brown, 96, Lisman KY, passed away Friday January 12th, 2024 at Hamilton Point of Newburgh.  Emma was born in Providence, KY to the late Grayson and Della Hill and was the oldest of three children.

Emma retired from Carhartt, Inc after 20yrs of employment.  After retirement, Emma enjoyed gardening and selling produce with her husband. She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5484.  She was a long time member of the Eastern Star Ermine Ford #9.

Emma is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Homer Brown, two sisters and two brother-in-laws, Teresa Stewart(Charlie)and Mary Crews(Jesse).

Emma is survived by a daughter, Rita Childers (Duane) of Lisman,KY; a son Thomas Davenport(Debbie) of Kuttawa, KY, a step-son Jim Brown(Kim) of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Shawn Dockemeyer(Darren) of Henderson, KY, Jessica Powell(Brent) of Piedmont, SC, Thomasa Davenport of Los Angeles, CA, Jonas Davenport of Kuttawa, KY, Amanda Lutz(Chris) of Boonville, IN, Sabrina Davenport of Greenwich, CT, Noah Childers(Christina) and Aaron Childers(Miranda) of Newburgh, IN; step-grandchildren, Roddy Brown(Denise) of Clay, KY, Jeff Brown(Mandy) of Hanson, KY; 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Tuesday January 16^th, 2024 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Pastor J.D. Rose will officiate, with burial in Slover Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on Monday and from 8am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
