Ella Frances Shoulders

Ella Frances Shoulders 89, of Providence, KY passed at her residence on Saturday February 28th, 2026. Frances was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church, where she was very active in all phases of the church. She loved spending time with her family and going on bus trips. Frances enjoyed flowers, gardening and canning vegetables from her garden. She had worked at the Enro Shirt Factory until it closed and then worked several years at JC Penny in Madisonville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Charles Kurtz and Alcy B. McElroy Rakestraw. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Joe Shoulders, her son Cliff Shoulders, a brother Charles Kurtz, a grandson Isaac Shoulders and a great granddaughter Kaitlyn Shoulders. Survivors include her grandchildren Michael(Holly) Shoulders of Madisonville, KY; Heather(Jimmie) Riley of Wheatcroft and Brandy(Joe) Shelton of Slaughters, KY; 6 great-grandchildren McKenzie, Carson, Tinley, Paisley, Colin and Lainey; 3 sisters Patty Hogan of Manitou, KY; Betta Stevens of Hanson, KY and Sadie Tudor of Madisonville, KY; her daughter in law LaDonna Shoulders of Slaughters, KY and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday March 7th, 2026 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Jimmie Riley and Rev. Kerry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
