Dioka "Oakie" Higgs

Dioka “Oakie” Higgs 83, of Sebree, KY passed away on November 30th, 2025 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church in Ortiz, KY. Oakie was a pianist, seamstress, loved music, loved her church and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Thelma Cole Wiltshire. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Higgs, her daughter Connie Lykins Bivens and 2 brothers Mickey and Paul Wiltshire. Survivors include her 2 sons Ricky and Danny Higgs both of Dixon, KY; a sister Barbara Reynolds of Mt. Vernon, IN; a brother Jerry Wiltshire of Mt. Vernon, IN; 5 grandchildren Amy Sue Martin, Josh Snyder, Carrie Blake, Danielle Kromer and Kaylie Lykins; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 3rd, 2025 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. David Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Shelton Cemetery in Sebree, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S. Green St. Henderson, KY 42420.
