Cleatis Edwin Rodgers 104, of Dixon, KY passed away on Thursday October 17th, 2024 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY. He was a member of the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Dixon, KY. Cleatis worked for Vulcan Materials in Gary, IN for 30 years. He loved bowling, spending time with his family and was an avid UK fan. Cleatis was very patriotic, having served in the US Army during WWII, he fought in the Asian Pacific Theater in the Battle of Saipan as an Antitank Gun Crewman. He was the son of the late Oliver and Blonnie Cunningham Rodgers. He was preceded in death by a daughter Melinda Guzik, 3 sisters Agnes Madden, Naomi Oglesby and Hazel Parker and a brother Vernon Rodgers. Survivors include his wife of 77 years Geneva Key Rodgers of Dixon, KY; a son Christopher(Barbara) G. Rodgers of Omaha, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren Christopher(Renee) Rodgers II, Sean(Amanda) Guzik, and Joseph(Anna) Rodgers; 12 loving great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday October 21st, 2024 at 11am at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Dixon, KY. Rev. Dave Ezell and Rev. Jody Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on Sunday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY and from 9am until service time at the church. Hopkins County Honor Guard will perform Military Rites at the graveside. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S. Green St Henderson, KY 42420.
