Carolyn June Crowley Dacy 87, of Poole, KY passed away on January 14th, 2026 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN after gracefully battling Leukemia. She was born near Poole on September 5th, 1938 to the late Raymond L. and Grace Crowley. She attended Poole School until it closed and graduated from Dixon High School in 1956. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville, TN in 1959 and later earned her Rank I from Murray State University and University of Evansville. Her teaching career spanned over 56 years working in the Evansville-Vanderburgh County and Webster County School Systems. Upon retiring from Webster County Schools in 2002, Mrs. Dacy continued her passion for teaching students by working and volunteering part-time in Dixon, Clay and Sebree Elementary schools until age 81. She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Henderson, a member of Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society and served as an officer in Webster County Teachers Association, Poole Harvest Daze and Poole Development Corporation. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Jimmy Ray Dacy. She is survived by two daughters, Carleen(Jim) Grossman of Evansville, IN and Raegina(Mark) Scott of Dixon, KY; grandchildren Emily Smith Sutt and Katie Smith Lucas, both of Dixon, KY; Amanda Grossman Coghill of Henderson, KY; Lauren Grossman of Evansville, IN, Michael Scott and Brandon Scott both of Slaughters, KY; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday January 20th, 2026 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Eric Hoey will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Monday and from 11am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Presbyterian Church of Henderson 100 S.
