Billy Moore “Luke” Lucas Jr. passed away March 17, 2016 at 6:20am at his home surrounded by family. Billy was born Sept. 25, 1949 in Henderson, KY to the late Billy and Patricia Hammond Lucas. He graduated from Henderson County High School in 1968. He was drafted into the Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He married Brenda Cook on May 5, 1972. He went to work at Anaconda on May 23, 1973 and retired from Rio Tinto Alcan on Jan 1, 2010. He loved the Lord, his brothers, kids, grandkids, wife and friends. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Joe Lucas and a grandson Reece Lucas. Survivors include his wife of 44 years Brenda Kay Cook Lucas of Sebree, KY 1 daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Mahurin of Providence, KY; 1 son Chad (Mia) Lucas of Sebree, KY; 2 brothers Jimmy (Cheri) Lucas of Henderson, KY and Scott (Lisa) Lucas of Dixon, KY; 1 sister in law Stephanie Lucas of Henderson, KY; 7 grandchildren Sara and McKena Lucas of Sebree, KY, Chloe, Lucas and Jenna Mahurin of Providence, KY, Zach West and Emma Harmon of Sebree, KY.; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Monday March 21, 2016 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Brian West will officiate the services. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 3-8PM on Sunday and from 8am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Charlie Ransom, Brian Lucas, Zach Lucas, Shane Lucas, Ben Lucas, Ryan Mahurin, Lucas Mahurin, Robert Brantley and Zach West. Honorary Pallbeares will be Billy Joe Lee and Carrol “Pappy” Brantley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Townsend Cemetery P.O. Box 238 Dixon, KY 42409.
