Bennie Lewis Bright 47, of Dixon, KY, formerly of Chanute, Kansas died at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN on May 5, 2013. He was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and a US Army Veteran. He was President of the Webster Co. Firefighters Association and also President of the Dixon Freedom Festival. He served on the Dixon Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Webster Co. Search and Rescue. He was preceded by 2 sons Darren Bright and Shawn Stipp. Survivors include his wife of 9 years Shannon Bright of Dixon, KY; his parents Fred & Frankie Sue Bright of Chanute, KS; 5 daughters Deedra Andrews of Independence, KS, Samantha Stipp, Toni Bright, Britney Bright, and Heather Bright all of Dixon, KY; 2 sons Scott Bright and Dusty Bright both of Dixon, KY; one brother Eddie Bright of Derby, KS; one sister Tammi Davidson of Chanute, KS; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Justin Cardwell will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Services will also be held at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute, KS on Monday May 13, 2013 at 1pm. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute Kansas.
