Barbara Nell Winstead

Barbara Nell Winstead 84, of Utica, KY passed away at home on Wednesday September 9th, 2026. Barbara retired from Family Dollar after 23 years of managing one of the stores in Owensboro, KY. She also owned and operated a Laundromat for several years. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and relaxing on the beach with her family on vacations. She was preceded in death by a son Kevin Lee Winstead, a sister Camelia Igleheart and 2 brothers Gene and Melvin Winstead. Survivors include her daughters Stefany Thurby of Frances, KY and Gina(Robert) Gilmore of Utica, KY; a brother Gary(Maggie) Winstead of Dickson, TN; 3 grandchildren Brian, Matthew and Shane; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Eddie Dukes will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Blackford, KY.
